This is a common pattern in Traditional Chinese Medicine although we need more details to make the correct diagnosis. Best to see a registered traditional chinese medicine doctor as they need to take your pulse and see your tongue. Highly recommend taking their herbs they are amazing. You can goggle your symptoms adding" according to TCM " to get an idea about the different patterns it could be. Although don't try and treat yourself see an ezpert.

I think the reason you are vomiting up phlegm is that you are eating a diet that causes phlegm. You might need to change your diet. Dairy for some people causes phlegm build up as does wheat as it produces gluten in the body a sticky substance if you eat bread you wanna eat sprouted bread. Deep fried foods, Sugery foods . Alcohol, high fat and excessive red meat. Mucus is the body's way of moving unwanted things from the body when you have too much you are eating too many things that leave a by products of unwanted residue in the body. Try eating more plant based diet. Not saying you have to go full on vegetarian but try cutting out meat to like once a day instead of multiple times a day. Cut back or cut out dairy and see if it improves. Eat more vegetables and fruits try eating brown rice and sweet potatoes in stead of white potatoes whole grains like Quinoa and whole grain couscous. But back on sodas and any drinks with high sugary contents.

I' ve been dealing with this for about 10 months now it has become progressively worse the last 6 months. I vomit every morning mucus and bile never food. I will wake up from a dead sleep feeling nauseous and ready to vomit. Sometimes the puking does happen right away I will just dry heave til I eventually comes out. I don't want to but it's like my body's natural response. All this leaves me so weak, I'm usually better later in the day. Having the AC blow on me helps too.my doctor thinks it's acid reflux and has prescribed mess but nothing seems to work.

Former heavy drinker here as well. My phlegm started when I was a late teen. Before that, I snorted constantly as a kid. I've taken the stomach-acid meds, taken trospium chloride to help "dry" me out, done the vinegar (any benefits of which seem completely anecdotal anyway), and stopped drinking totally. Guess who still spends her mornings coughing and spitting up 4-lb loogs? This gal.

How does no one have an answer to this? I cant take it anymore.
Im starting to think its allergies. My eyes are blood shot every morning too. I also noticed that as long as i am laying down the urge to puke doesnt come. But the second i stand up and start moving the phlem puke flows.

My almost 3 year old daughter coughs and coughs and coughs every morning in bed until she vomits up thick white mucus... is there anything i can do to stop this? Its very distressing for her being so young. She's also asthmatic so its worse in the colder months.

Honestly, it's really probably allergy related. You moved to a different state, so the pollen situation may have been different or there's fewer mold spores where you're living now.

My 6 yr. old daughter has been missing a lot of school lately due to stomach aches and nausea in the early morning followed by 2- 3 rounds of vomiting mucus and saliva, no food or bile. No fever.

I called the pediatrician and they recommended giving her over the counter Children’s Zyrtec BEFORE bedtime as an antihistamine to the allergic response(whatever her specific reason may be) that is triggering the increased mucus secretions and lack of her ability to digest it. They also suggested using a humidifier and nasal spray to help thin the mucus. I have no problem trying these suggestions for her but I know there is a reason why her body is struggling with this problem just the same as all of you who are searching here for answers to your same issue.

Our current situation - this may tell you if you have anything similar or different
- Live in Michigan, its cold fall months right now, seasonal allergens
- Brand new build home (1 month), no/little dust like previous homes,
- Fresh air return system installed on new furnace,
- She gets frequent respiratory infections 2-4/ year and ends up needing inhaler or nebulizer
- Painful stomach in the morning, followed by vomiting mucus and saliva, varies
- Light yellow to darker yellowish green color

among increasing the Vitamin C and Probiotic intake for my daughter, I will post how everything works out in the next few weeks.

I wake up with the flem and throwing it up too. With me, the stuff just gets stuck in the back of my throat when I try to cough it up and blocks my breathing. It also comes from post nasal drip that I always try to spit out.
