My staff and I r trying to get the word out about early diagnosis. .we are having a hard time finding places to speak about mental illness. They have tried local high schools and colleges with no response. I would like to devout my life to save a young person from what I experienced before diagnosis..Any ideas?

Perhaps that sounds extreme but I am 65 years old and concerned for the next generation of schizophrenics..My grandmother was in an institution when she was younger..she never got out. If I would have known her diagnosis it would have saved me years of trying to diagnose myself. My mission now is to talk to young people in a humorous way to encourage them to be aware that mental illness can come on so slowly that they may not recognize it.
Having a hard time opening up to a health professional about the things that are bothering me. What can I do in order to gain some self-confidence?
