Hi my son is 14 works on a farm and is very strong....he is average height now......does lifting weight affect his growing...or stunt his growth...what about heavy weights.....can he weight lift to build his muscles

Of course. Any time you use muscles, the body responds by developing them. Essentially no impact on growth, certainly not detrimental.

Taking supplements, steroids, any of that stuff of course and you're messing with body chemistry - not advisable, but using what nature provided? Go for it.

i have read that heavy weights compress the growth plates....... s this true......it is very important for me to know all the ramificatios of weight lifting......he is an elite athlete.....i do not want to hinder his growth but want to give him a chance to excel with strength
