Post my total colectomy, the episodes stopped! And honestly, the Dr's just don't why. With a total colectomy, you will find it necessary to live on Immodium and likely Pepcid also. BM's will likely occur some 5 to 10 times a day, always very loose. It can be a
challenge to stay "clean and dry"...diaper rash! I personally have found that it is easy to stay at the same weight if not loose weight,
if one is active.
