Im on day 7 and it feels like i'm back to day 4-5. the front part of the scabs came off days 4-5 and it was a horrible experience. I guess this morning th back part of the scabs are coming off and is twice as horrible. As far as food goes, Ive only been able to eat jello (my new best friend), some sherbert, and recently really cold pudding. I tried popsicles and I guess because of the sucking, i couldnt handle it, apple puree feels rough, and never ever ever EVER try to eat baby gerber. It felt like i had fire in my throat, it was the worse pain i've ever experienced. First 5 days i could only sleep in sitting position, now i'm down to somewhat elevated, but i'm able to rest a little more. THe only thing is that i have to wake up constantly because my throat is very dry, if i sleep for hours, i wake up even more sore than before. Weight, i came in at 216 lb, I have not weigh myself but i can see some weight loss all over, my face, arms and stomach. All i can say is if i quit having strep throat 6 times a year, it will be worth it. I've been reading and watching lots of movies :-P .

Keep on trucking my tonsil-less brothers!
Also, was anyone else sort of loopy on their medications? I know that I was of course starving, but I got dizzy frequently. Acetaminophen.

I had my tonsils out on 5/1/2013, and am now on day 5. I'm 32 years old, the Doc recommended I get them out due to their large size and frequent infections.
Honestly, it hasn't been as bad as so many people get on here and rant. Sure the throat hurts, but sleeping better and avoiding so many bacteria infections will be great (I hope).
The pain is there, but there's no illness to go along with it. I did yard work yesterday. So long as I keep drinking and don't talk it really isn't too bad. Actually, I find by keeping busy takes my mind off the pain. I had PRK eye corrective surgery a few years ago and that was quite a bit more painful, really this isn't so bad.

Oh and I've lost 8 pounds thus far. Considering I was an active runner before I didn't think I had much to lose. I'm 5'11" and was 172 lbs on the day of surgery. I'm now 164 lbs. I guess what can you expect when all you eat is jello, and chicken noodle soup?
Anyway, add weight usually isn't a problem for most people. Adding weight in a healthy way is the real trick.

Ever since I got mine out in Dec 2014-to now may I've lost 14kg , but I did lose my taste buds for 3.months which made me go for texture foods , once I got my taste back the bad texture foods like toast I gave up and found my food intake decreased . Because I had such q horrible time with food , I'm not eatting still as much as I had before (which is bad , I only eat to fill up ). But I've never had pain like I did when I got it done , I cried when I tryed to eat which sometimes would vomit it up , drinking killed , had sh*t voice . Then I got an infection , which made mmy whole right side of face swollen (mumpsalike ). Went hospital had steroids, heaps of shots of antibiotics. But now I can breath through my nose , exercise more , walk in direct wind without sore throat . Not getting 4x inflamed tonsil aweek . When I got back to work my boss bullied me , and finally has calm down for my 2weeks off in December (proof of certificate), because I took 2weeks off because of my tonsils and infections ..she said to my face I know how it feels I got my wisdom tooth out . -.-" that doesn't compare
