Hey,
I am a teenage girl and i have always had this birth mark/bruise looking thing on my right knee. Lately it has got darker (reder) and is really sore, like an actual bruise. And i just noticed on the other knee in the exact same spot a bruise has come up as well. The bruises are really sore to touch.
What is going on!! i thought it was a birth mark but its turned into a sore bruise!! and why has another one come up on the other leg!!
Please help!!

Hey Hannah
There are two kinds of birthmarks, red birthmarks and pigmented birthmarks. Red birthmarks are a vascular type of birthmark and pigmented birthmarks are areas in which the color of the birthmark is different from the color of the rest of the skin.
Usually the birth marks aren’t causing any complications but sometimes they can be nasty and they can increase cancer risk. Any changes that occur in the color and size of a birth mark needs to be examined by the doctor. Urgent situation is when you experience pain, bleeding, itching and inflammation of birth mark.
Since you have similar symptoms my suggestion is to see your family doctor as soon as possible and off course you must tell to your parents. Keep us informed.
