It's lichen planus. I have it as well. I was given a steroid cream called Vanos and it went away. You probably have lacy raised patterns inside your mouth as well. It's part of it. During times of extreme stress it can come back. You will have the potential for another outbreak for the rest of your life. It is not sexually transmitted. It is an autoimmune disease.
