The longer you take the drug, the more intense the withdrawal will be, I suggest NOT going up in mg, go down as fast as possible, you will feel so much better if you get off the drug sooner then later... Don't listen to anyone who says DIFFERENT

I've been on suboxone for over 3 years taking 12 mgs a day up until June of 21. I started getting really bad heart racing that got progressively worse over the course of June. I tried cutting to 8 mgs and had an episode where I was driving with my father and thought I would have to call an ambulance, my heart kept beating harder even after taking hydroxizine that the nurse practitioner prescribed to counter it. I began losing circulation to my hands and feet and started to feel like losing consciousness. I had to pull over and walk around on the side of the highway for 20 minutes before it began to subside. I tried cutting to 4 mgs with .5mg of Librium, for the first couple of days it seemed okay but then I started getting the heart racing again and feelings like I was going to throwup, passout, or lose control of my body. I then cut to 2mg with .5mg lorazepam daily since beginning of September. Again for the first couple of weeks I was just ok, Still getting heart beating hard but not racing, but after about a month I started getting the weird feelings of like I was going to lose control of my body, like I was going to just stop breathing, then I started getting tongue cramps, a feeling like a band around the muscles under my jaw, almost like I was going to swallow my tongue, I've been getting weakness in my left leg, with leg drop sometimes when I'm walking and I almost trip. I've cut down again to about 1.5-1.75 mgs but still have to take a benzodiazepam every day with the subutex. I switched to just buprenorphine when this started happening. I get terrible wds if I go a day without it, and this is way worse than any withdrawals I've ever experienced when using regular short acting opiates. I wouldn't stay on this med long term. It's a good tool short term but they still don't know of the consequences to some people who take this for years.
