Hi , just wanted some advice on this surgery, i'll give a brief rundown on my problem , i've had achillies tendonitis in both ankles for about 5 yrs, my right ankle has now become very mis shappen due to the amount of calcification thats built up , surgeon said he will have to detatch the tendon off the heal bone reshape then reattach , left one is not so bad, but my right knee now is causing problems due to me walking funny, i'm really struggling at the mo but I have put off surgery in the past as surgeon was only giving me a 60 % chance of it feeling better and also at the moment even though it hurts I do still have a good range of movement,I just wanted to know if anyone has had this surgery and what the outcome was, I have not ran now for a few years but do try with some force to walk for a few miles a day , any advice will be really helpfull to me Thankyou
Haven't had this surgery but surgery for achilles tendonitis is pretty rare and I would avoid it if at all possible. If you have tried everything else and it is really affecting you on a daily basis then it is worth a try surely.
