hello, i'm 17; i had my gallbladder removed a week ago. i have been reading around this site and i've found people with diarrhea and other symptoms. i do not feel this, but i also heard from other people that any food with lactose will cause you pain similar to the one i had before i had my surgery. has anyone felt this?

i know what food to avoid, such as anything with fat; but will eating avocado or vegetal fat make me feel pain?

thanks in advance!

Palm kernel oil is something you specifically have to avoid. Processed and highly refined vegetable oils are generally not good for you, so avoid those if you can.

As for avocado, it might be fatty, but it's a good fat. Avocado is actually one of the foods often specifically recommended to people on a gallbladder removal diet; it gives you fiber, nutrients, and healthy fats.

If you do feel pain, you will know. My recommendation is to keep a food diary so you can work out possible causes of discomfort if this does happen. If necessary, you can also show this journal to your doctor.
