My father, aged 73 years, underwent CABG in May 2003. In Nov 2003, he complained of breathlessness while climbing stairs or walking continuously for more that 5 mints.
Our cardiologist suggested Plavix after stenting. What is the general consensus about using Plavix with Aspirin in the initial three months after CABG? It is an attempt to get better patency for our grafts. Is anybody using it? I searched the literature, but there is nothing much. I don’t know what could happen after CABG.
Our grandpa also underwent CABG. We were also wondering what could happen after.
We started with 300mg aspirin about 6hrs after surgery. From the following day use combination of clopidogrel and aspirin for next three months, then continued with aspirin alone. We have been using this for him for last 2 years and appear to be working well.
