I have the same issue! Literally only at retail stores. I thought it might be related to perfumes or plants as that when it would act up, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all times. Anyone know what might cause this?

I have the same issue "Department stores" and more than others "Walmart". But I like to shop.

You might be allergic to the soap you are using. Nowadays there are so many nasty chemicals in soaps. Try changing to an all natural product. Arbonne is a good brand.

I am 65 and was recently stricken with red, swollen, itchy fingers and palm of my non-dominant hand.  These red patches are sore, like a bruise when you push on it.  I do not have a face rash, but a rheumatologist has diagnosed lupus.  I also have some chest pain, which is pericarditis, inflammation of the tissue around the heart.  A positive ANA blood test is suggestive.  Lupus is a strange autoimmune disease and early diagnosis can help.

I don't understand what you mean. There is no such word as 'calliberin' in English. If you mean chilblain, then triderm [which is a topic steroid] is not recommended. No steroids are recommended for chilblains.

this condition is called chilblains... its abnormal reaction of the skin to cold.... no special treatment is required, coz it dont cause a damage... precautions should be taken..
1. Keep the affected areas warm. This means staying out of the cold, or wearing warm gloves, socks, etc, when outdoors.
No other treatment is normally needed, as they usually go away by themselves.
2. A range of creams and lotions can be bought from a pharmacy. However, there is no evidence that any of these are of benefit so they are therefore not recommended.
3. Steroid creams are no longer recommended for the treatment (or prevention) of chilblains.
4. If you smoke then you should try to stop, as smoking can make chilblains worse.
5. Medication is sometimes used to prevent chilblains in people who have recurring chilblains. A medicine called NIFEDIPINE can open wide (dilate) the small blood vessels and may help to prevent chilblains.

I have had this for years, although it went away when I was pregnant and for a few years after.  It comes in the winter, and affects fingers and or toes.  Early signs are very tender sore spots on my knuckle or finger-bumping into something hurts much more than it should.  Then comes the swelling, and redness and itchiness.  It starts getting very depressing after a while, and I seem to have trouble sleeping too (but maybe lack of sleep helps bring it on).  Not sure it is chilbains because sometimes I have no problem being in the cold.  I am a runner, and have run in 15 degree weather without any problem, and then other times it will just descend on me for no apparent reason.  I used to drive myself crazy thinking it was something I was doing, but there really doesn't seem any rhyme or reason- other than the winter months and maybe being tired and run down.  I take vitamin d3 because of lack of winter sun, but that doesn't seem to matter (I've been taking it religiously lately, and am in the middle of a bad spell).  it is annoying and painful, but I think the lack of predictability is what bothers me most.

You have described what I am dealing with to a T! I too have Raynaud's Syndrome. I woke up with my right thumb swollen, and tingly (like little pins and needles)..I thought it would go away but as the day progressed it has now spread to my index and middle finger completely, but today all fingers feel tight.

I have been having this issue for quite some time now. I was told that it is an allergic reaction but i can't seem to find out what i am allergic to. My finger or fingers will get swollen and itch really bad also will turn red. I can't bend nor move it because it seems like it's going to explode. I am yet to find out the cause.
