When I was pregnant my hands starter itching really bad at night. Then it was my hands and feet. I would itch untIL I bled. I was told it was hormones. Now, baby is 7 months old. This is happening again, although did not occur for a few months. I have not changed soaps. I work from home and don't shop much so I don't notice the department store thing like some have mentioned here. I do notice it is only at night. There is no rash. It's mostly my fingers and between them. There are no bumps. They swell and hurt. I put ice to help the swelling and found that it relieves the itching as well. I have no answers as to why this happens though and it keeps me up at night.

About 4 years ago I used a different laundry detergent (with bluing). Ever since then I am extremely sensitive to any chemicals. I broke out in hives on my torso. The past 3 years I have now developed pain, itching and raised red bumps on my feet and mainly on my hands. This past week the burning and itching on my hands was severe. My hand swelled up and I was unable to make a fist with my left hand. That subsided after about 30 hours and then my right hand began with same symptoms. The only thing that seems to help is Benadryl and even that gives little relief. After doing an internet search the closest thing I could come up with is erythromelalgia so google that. I think that restricting alcohol, taking aspirin and Benadryl and avoiding chemicals in everyday items such as hand, bath and laundry soap is the best I can hope for.

Thanks for naming this condition.
I've suffered from this for years, have seen numerous doctors and was even misdiagnosed with scleroderma which is very serious. I have no other symptoms except for hands that get cold easily and an itchy, inflamed finger that flares up every winter. The topical corticosteroid provides some temporary relief but otherwise there is no cure and it does eventually go away after a few weeks. I hope this helps others out there who are experiencing the same thing.

I have had Raynauds for 2 years now, and twice in the last week, I have awoke with swollen, itchy fingers. I also believe I have undiagnosed Sjrogren's. After several hours, the swelling went down some, but then I developed peripheral neuropathy. The tips of my fingers all feel as if I've had the slammed in a car door. Vwry painful! In inspecting my hands today, I noticed I have small pinpoint red dots on the backs of my hands and wrists. I'm concerned that I might be developing scleroderma (My sister has it).... At what point should I take my UNINSURED butt to a Dr? My fingers have dive me crazy all day!

THANK YOU!!! in English Chilblains (a.k.a. chill burns or frost bite). This makes perfect sense why I get it every month during winter time and not during the summer. Environmentally related. I've got enough allergy issues and this didn't look like the typical hives I get during an allergic reation. Especially because it only affects my hands and feet (the areas on my body that get cold first). The doctors kept telling me it was allergies. I was going crazy because nothing changed in my routine from one month to the next. Thank you, thank you!!!

There are so many preservatives in all the clothing, towels etc... that is why you should always wash things you buy new, so it could possibly be a reaction to that

I think it is an allergic reaction to something you eat. Taking my son to the Drs right now with the same thing .
