I have a friend who keeps telling me about problem with bacteremia. He started to be boring already, but I think this is my problem. I have to admit I do not understand what kind of bacteria cause bacteremia. That is why I cannot talk to him about this topic and it sounds boring to me. I believe it would help if you tell me more about this problem with bacteremia.

Bacteremia is the presence of viable bacteria in the circulating blood. Interesting is to know that transient bacteremia may develop following dental work or other iatrogenic manipulations. However, it is generally clinically benign and self-resolved in children. You should understand this problem might commonly occur in children with focal infections or in children who have sepsis. This is commonly clinical evidence other than fever of a systemic response to infection. Children with sepsis or bacteremia, have an increased heart rate or respiratory rate. Patients with occult bacteremia do not have clinical evidence other than fever of a systemic response to infection. First described in was case in young febrile children with unsuspected pneumococcal infection. In his case, bacteremia is defined as the presence of bacteria in the bloodstream of a febrile child who was previously healthy. The child does not clinically appear to be ill and has no apparent focus of infection.
