For the past 6 months or so I started to get painful colon spasms while trying to go to the bathroom on my menstrual cycle. When I am passing it, it hurts like no other. I have had painful stomach/colon spasms and deep pain in the past on and off but just ignored it.

I also clench up whenever I feel that I am about to relieve myself. There is a medical term for it.

I learned that these kind of bowel conditions and pains as well as any conditions with Interstitial Cystitis (IC) and other bladder/urethral conditions are connected to your pelvic floor muscles (being too tight) as well has your hips and lower back being out of balance which contributes to either too weak or tight pelvic floor, and are often reversed with loosening your pelvic muscles through yoga and pelvic floor physical therapy so I have started to do it following exercises on youtube until I can see a therapist. (I noticed it seems true because now I see I am constantly clenching those muscles down there and had no idea)

However, I was just curious if others have experienced these symptoms? Since I also started to get symptoms of IC recently, the colon pain while relieving myself on menses have been excruciating and I am now getting the pain even when I am not going to the bathroom. I could hardly stand/walk the other day the cramping was so painful.

I am also starting to have cramping in my intestines and stomach and slight stabbing pains in my sides and back. I just switched to Keto due to having Hypoglycemic sugar crashes, to reverse it and have been eating a lot of nuts. Wasn't sure if diet change is contributing to the stomach cramps.

Thanks in advance and I wish you all the best on your healing journey!

P.S. Also constantly feel constipated. Will feel like my colon is full and I need to go, but nothing. In the mornings I usually have a pretty smooth-flowing release with some tension/no movement at first but then things go smoothly but can be accompanied by pain from contractions I presume.

Thanks again!
