tomorrow i have try-outs for lacrosse, and i was wondering what snack, im thinking of an energy gell, to eat about half way throught a 1.5 mile run to give me a burst of energy for the last leg. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And what about after our run, and before the try-outs with the full padding(to help recover). THX.
If it's a mile and a half as fast as you can go, you sould be going too fast to eat. A mile and a half probably only burns about 150-180 calories anyway.

don't eat anything while you're running if you're running for speed at that short a distance; it will just mess with your time! i mean, if you want an "energy gel" take it 10 minutes before you run with like 3 ounces of water.

clif bars are a good recovery snack.
