i need some info about C5-6 disc colapse and the surgeries involved. I would also like the statistics on return to origional occupation post- op
I too am looking into options to treat C 5-6 hernation. My original injury was Dec 05 and we treated it conservatively and successfully with anti-inflammatories, pain killers, rest, ice, heat, and physiotherapy. I was off work for 12 weeks but after 6 months I was back to normal with no surgery. I understand over 80% of these injuries will heal without surgery but it takes a long time.

Now I have had a recurrance and am considering surgical options. I am considering having an endoscopic procedure which removes only the portion of the disc that is herniated and understand this is very successful and minimally invasive. Unfortunately, in Canada, the wait list is 8 - 12 months.

I am also considering laser disc decompression which is offered at various clinics in the US but for me would be very expensive. Might be worth the cost though if the results are as successful as they claim.

good luck.
