For some reason, my nine month old son is going through a phase of LOTS of drooling. No matter how often I wipe his mouth, it always seems to be totally soaked. As you can imagine, this has resulted in dry and flaky skin on his chin, and it's red and itchy. It is unpleasant for me just to look at it - I am sure he must be having a rough time with it! What should I do to get his skin back to normal as soon as possible?

I know most "baby" products on the market are by no means as gentle as the packages tend to suggest. For that reason, I would not recommend you use any commercial baby creams on this area, but rather a natural, non biting oil to replenish the skin. Yoyoba and calendula oil would both be great, and putting this on your baby's chin three times a day should do the trick!
