My favorite is the 10K, because it is long enough for me to be good at it, but still short enough that you can be real aggressive and attack it. The 5K is similar, but just a little more of a sprint which I'm not good at. I haven't done many of them, but when I'm really fit I can still attack a half marathon, but I can enjoy a 10K no matter what my training is like.
Frankly, I don't like marathons at all. The way you have to race one just doesn't match my personality, and I don't enjoy long runs either.

Full IM. I love the long days training working up to the day and the distance is long enough for a full day. My longer training days are upward of 8 hours. longer then most people race. I love being out there pushing my body to the ends of the limits.
The added bonus of all that training is, well I cannot think of anything right now. just tired bones and alot of money spent on repairs and clothes and stuff.

Anything under a half mari is an all out sprint and that hurts to much!
