Hi guys. I have a question that might sound silly, but I have to ask it anyway. I practice bodybuilding since I was 19 years old and now I am 21 but I still have some uncertainties about something. Whats YxY? I mean, all those 3x5, 5x5, 8x3 Does 3x5 mean that you do three series of 5 reps with same or different weight? I found figures in many articles in magazines and on net, and I was just too embarrassed to ask this earlier.
Well to be honest, I do not know that either and I am almost 5 years deep into this thing. I know that 5x5 are 5 series with 5 reps each, but what is with the weight? Is it possible that each of those reps has the same weight? I guess that there is no official rules for those figures, every builder has its own numbers. When I say YxY, I think of different weights, but I do not mention that. I guess you have to ask for explanation each time.
