I am taking Lutera birth control pills and I am starting my second week of taking them as of today. I started taking them the day after my period and what I'd like to know is: Is it okay to have unprotected sex now?
You should use alternative protection for a full cycle of the pills. There is a chance that one could become pregnant when just starting birth control.
I don't think it's a bad idea to use a condom at any time, on the pill or not.

Listen to bbfeet9, use a condom even if you're on the pill. The pill doesn't stop you from getting STDs and like everything else, it's not 100% effective.

I am already aware of STIs and that it's not fully effective. However, not to sound rude ^^;, but I didn't start taking them just to use a condom every time I have sex. I already know what I needed to know about my partner before we started to have sex (and they are all good things thank goodness!) And from what I have heard so far, it's best to still use a condom while starting your first pack? This is because...your body is still getting used to the change in hormones correct?? This is all I really need to know. I figured I shouldn't jump the gun but I just needed to know solid facts

Okay, use alternate protection thru your first cycle. After you have completed your first pack of pills then you are free to do whatever you like. You are correct. Your body has to adjust to the hormone change.
I always suggest condom usage, thats just my feeling.
I hope i did not offend you in any way. :-(

oh no hahaha! It's quite alright, I just really wanted to know as soon as possible because much to my surprise, my boyfriend and I have sex quite often, and that is why I started the pills. Thats all I really needed to know, but thank you!
