Where do you go?
Lowes. I don't have a preference between Lowes and Home Depot; the nearest Lowes just happens to be closer.

I did go to the locally owned Ace Hardware. But they went out of business two weeks ago. :(
Usually the local place as its right around the corner, otherwise its Home Depot. We don't have any Lowe's in this area yet

My sis works at Lowes HQ. The company was started in my hometown and remained there until recently. So I usually go there.

It really depends on what I need and where I am when I realize I need it. If I am coming home from work it is Home Depot, if I have to leave from home and we need a lot of stuff I go to Lowes and if it is a small thing then I will just go to the local Ace Hardware store.
Basically anywhere I can get the *&^%%9 part. Sometimes its the local no name, other times its Lowe's or Home Depot.
I would go to Lowers because Jimmy Johnson is a hottie, but they are clear on the other side of town, so....

With me finishing our basement, Home Depot has been my second home. I don't care for Lowe's too much, but I will go there if need be.
Lowes is about 1.2 miles away from me, Home Depot is about 1.4 miles in the other direction. But, when it comes to major projects I pull out the phone book.
