Up until 2 weeks ago i had been training regulary in an effort to get back my half marathon from in time for summer and was running 8,5,4,3 mile runs each week.
But for personal reasons i had to stop running for the last two weeks, and i have just started again, and found todays and yesterdays 3 mile runs very hard. From personal experiance i know that a two week break will have not lost all my form, and i will slowly unlock it over the next week or so......my question is this......Why does it take this time to use the form i have? I would expect to lose some overall form, but why can i use the form i have straight away?

What were you doing while not running, anything? I'm asking cuz I have noticed improvement in my own form since building and maintaining a strong core. I've had many breaks in running due to injuries but maintaining my core strength keeps my running form in check pretty much.
