I have very itchy arms and legs (particularly affecting the joints of the arms, i.e. where the forearm meets the upper arm). It's also affecting my stomach and torso to an extent. Can anyone shed light on what might be causing this?

Itchy skin can have various causes, and I can mention a few possible reasons for the symptoms you described:

  1. Allergic reactions: Itching can result from an allergic reaction to certain substances such as detergents, lotions, fabrics, or even certain foods or medications.

  2. Eczema: Eczema is a common skin condition characterized by dry, itchy, and inflamed skin. It can affect various parts of the body, including the arms, legs, and torso.

  3. Contact dermatitis: This occurs when the skin comes into direct contact with an irritant or an allergen, leading to an itchy rash. It can be caused by various substances, including soaps, cosmetics, or metals like nickel.

  4. Dermatitis herpetiformis: This is a skin condition associated with celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten consumption. It results in itchy, blistering skin lesions, often located on the elbows, knees, and buttocks.

  5. Dry skin: Dry skin lacks moisture and can become itchy, especially in colder and drier climates or due to excessive bathing or use of harsh soaps.

These are just a few possibilities, and there may be other causes for your symptoms. Did you have any problems with this earlier in the life?
