My cousin has huge problem with folliculitis on his face. Because of that he can not shave. He went to doctor and now he needs to take some antibiotic. I know that usually it isn’t something dangerous but I would not like to get it. Tell me why does folliculitis appears?

Every hair on your body grows from a follicle, a small pocket of modified skin. Each follicle is attached to a small muscle. When you're cold or frightened, the muscle contracts, raising the hairs above the level of your skin and giving the appearance of goose bumps. They may be invaded by viruses, bacteria or fungi.
