I have had intense itching on the right side of my scrotum for over 6 years. I've been too embarrassed to see a doctor. Over the past year the itching has become more severe and almost unbearable. After reading the posts on this thread I decided to try benadryl. It worked. Within hours my symptoms were gone and within one week my scrotum has healed. I cant believe how well this has worked. I am now going to see a doctor about the root cause. If you have not tried benadryl - it is worth a shot. I feel like a new person.

What type of Benadryl did you take? The allergy pills or the Itch Cream or Gel.

When someone say they "took" something, they generally mean they swallowed it, so I'd assume (at the risk of making a fool of myself and the old joke true) that he means diphenhydramine HCL tablets/capsules/wtfever. I just developed a terrible itch last night and it was so brutal I find myself googling it today. The information was helpful, I'm not disappointed this was the first link I clicked.

It may be fungal or yeast infection. I had the similar problem and it got into secondary fungal infection because of some traditional ineffective treatment. Later, my doctor has prescribed me Flucanazole tablets and Miconazole nitrate and Clotrimazole composition cream. It got cured after 4 weeks of treatment. I later started consuming 1 table spoon of pure coconut oil on a daily basis. Also, I avoided wearing jeans or tight underwear and tight clothing. Things started to get better and better and now I has gone. But, excessive sweating or poor hygine may again invite the same problem. Adding to this, I have cut off sugar from my diet, and it worked well.

I also suspected what vicente said since I like sweets. When I cut way back on sugar itching stopped.Fruit was okay to eat but, if I did get itchy and always at night,I found wiping a small amount of benedryl salve would stop the itch instantly. I now eat little sugar cause that itch drive me to scratch myself raw

I've had itchy scrotum since March and my doctor thought it was jock itch, as did I, but the sysmptoms just aren't there. The only thing that itches is the scrotum and with jock itch, the scrotum and penis are rarely effected. Plus I grew an extra testicle(not really) in the last few days. But it is more of a cyst, or a something! But it is about half or a little more than that of one of my testicles and I squeezed some bloody pus out of it the other day, and I can't do that now. But I almost stopped the itch about 3 weeks ago and kept it gone, using Tinactin as nothing else worked or I was allergic, and it seemed to work great till I ran low and only use it once per day, but changed underwear twice per day, kept clean, and followed all other directions. The itching is back as bad or worse than ever and now this "growth."
Any ideas?

Rick

as far as the cyst is concerned put a heating pad on it also soak in hot tub of water two to three times a day as needed the heat will pull the pus and plasma to the surface the tub will allow you to push on cyst and drain the infection out of the pores
the cyst will normally last 2-5 days with this treatment as far as the itchy scrotum sack there are to many different causes that have all the same symptoms to determine so try different suggestions on posts if none work seek professional help of a doctor

I too suffer with itchy balls. My female Dr. told me to moisturise but the itch is still there. I don't want to go back because UK Dr.s pack you off to a sexual health clinic to sit with all the 'unlucky-in-love' guys. I've tried anti-fungal cream to no avail although I read somewhere that anti-fungal powder is the best stuff - just don't know where to get it...scratch, scratch... :'(

I'm fairly sexually active, and my scrotum itches. a lot sometimes. it's to the point where some days I don't notice it, and other days are nearly impossible to do anything but scratch. I've had an itching problem for a couple years, but it's never been bad enough to worry me until now. recently it's gotten out of control. 5/7 days a week it's unbearable. when I put my legs completely together, it gets much worse. when I spread my legs, it lessens, but doesn't go away. I've tried moisturizer, baby powder, itching, not itching, even putting my scrotum into very hot/cold water. nothing seems to work and it's embarrassing. there's also a bump on it. it looks almost like a wart, except it's very white, and more like a circle that's only slightly raised than an actual wart. somebody please help me solve this.

Hi, I've had an itchy scrotum for many years. For me the big breakthrough came when I stopped eating wheat - 3-4 days later my scrotum stopped flaking and bleeding. Avoiding sugar also helps. If I stay off wheat and sugar (including the sugar in most alcohol) the problem goes away completly
