Try to stop eating all sugars (sucrose,fructose,lactose...) and all carbohydrades for one day.
If you don't get itchy scrotum at all that day then one of those above might have caused it.
Next try to eat ONLY ONE of the above the next day. If you get itchy scrotum 5 to 7 hours after eating it then you know what to avoid.
In my case refined sugar, papaya, pomelo, bread (so far) are OK with my body. But orange (so far) make me itch like hell 5 to 7 hours after I ate it.

Yesterday 2012-01-09 I was on a business trip, not eating at home, I bought a Big Mac meal for diner at a MacDonald with one Big Mac, one medium Coke, one French fries. I don't know what in the meal made my scrotum very very itchy for a whole night.
When have a chance, I will try one by one each day to find out what did it.

DUUUDES! - you guys have NO frikkin idea - I coud write a book about my tichy balls stories. SERIOUSLY. I used to play baseball as a kid up through highschool so I knew what jack itch was from having to wear an annoying cup that rubbed against my groin skin, so I KNEW that wasn't what was happening to me when it started in around my soph yr of college. Now, my skin, in general, has always be a bit sensitive, so at 1st I chalked the lil prickly feeling that seemed to be eminating from my ball hair follicles, to that. When it didn't go away after a good while, I was like "damn' WTF!@##@. So I'm like...what the hell, maybe it IS jock itch, knowing damn when it wasn't that same itchy oily smelly situation. I tried every OTC jock itch med which ALWAYS cleared my jock itch in the past - NOTHING DOING. Man, I remember days I'd carpool into the city where I live from the burbs w/ my homie and I'd be riding shotgun dying to dig my nails into my scrot skin son! THE SECOND we got to school I'd jet to the bathroom for some relief. LOL. And I'm in a spot where it gets HOT / HUMID in summber, so you can just IMAGINE the discomfort! Plus back then, my style was big baggy jeans, so that created even more heat and when I'd take them off after a long day in the sun or what-have-you, the change in temperature as I took them off seemed to trigger the MOST UN-BE-BUMBA-LEIVABLE itch!!! Temp change in general w/ seasons and what not, seemed to be an issue as well, cause winter would come around and it'd get NO BETTER. Just a different feeling of EXTREME DRYNESS, and itchyness still seeming to come from THE FOLLICLES. Before I managed to somehow doze off to sleeep at night, while still conscious, I REALLY had hard times. Even in cold weather, when I put my thighs together, I'd get this hella itching/burning sensation man. Like WTF@#$@#.
My bro always had the REAL sensitive skin in the family, so I started using his steroid cream down there for relief and it helped to the point where the rash / dryness I'd get from the irritation/itching, would go away, but them lil tubes loocked seriious and I ended up using them considerable more sparingly after reading their warning lables about thinnging skin w/ overuse - CAUSE I SUUUUURE HAD BEEN OVERUSING THEM MUTHAFUKAZ - LOL. Especially when I had some TRIM lined up, if ya know what I mean! It also mde me uncomfy just knowing that after using my broz steroid cream, the prob would come back, meaning that it was still there! MAAAAN, I even bought some scabies meds thinking I had caught somthing y'all. but that wasn't it. So I wAS DESPERATE. And of all FRUCKIN TIMES - COLLEGE!!!!!!! It got even worse, of course, on nights when I'd go out drinkin, come back home drunk, and fall out on my cought in my jeans. That next morning when I took off my britches - AAAAGONY. And when college was through, it still plaged me. The only time I was able to get some trim, was during that cyle that we call go through when your blood turns over and your skin clears like every couple of weeks. But soon it would be right back to haunt me. I eventually treid vitamins, holistic creams, yada yada, that sometimes led to a lil relief, but nothing to stop itching my balls about! I started watching what I eat - you know, the heath kick you get on every now and then, and I noticed that when I ate certain veges, particularly a lot of SPINACH, which I actually HATE, the flare ups wheren't as bad. But there were STILL THERE. Even changeing to fragrance free detergents and dermatologist recommended yada yada lotions / creams prescrip/OTC didn't work. I tried getting my sleep, and that didn't work. YOU NAME IT, I pretty much tried it, and NOPE - FAIL.
So I guess I've put you all through enuff. You're sitting there at your computer, in your drawz, one hand down your pants ready for the inevitable itch, weating for me to give you this miraculous secret cure. Well, it amazes me how I let something plague me that could have been cured so easily. Long story short, I forgot to pay my gas bill this winter of all times and my water is heated via gas. So one morning (i work nights) I get home and had to take a cold one, but I noteced at work the next evening, hey, my balls don't itchy, now I had been taking some other steps at the time that seemed to help like wearing khakis insteak of jeans to work, and blowdrying my balls after showering so I initially chalked it up to those things. Sure enuff, I kept up the cool showers instead of going back to my normally HOT showers and guess FRUCKIN WHAT! The itch / rash got less and less, until it pretty much disappeared! GIVE IT A SHOT GUYS. And use antibacterial soap - cetaphil makes the bar I use. I wouldn't even describy my showers as warm. They lean more towards cool. Imakes me not wanna stay in that much too, so I save on water unlike when I used to just stand there under the soothing hot water before getting to bizness. Increasing my vitamin D intake has helped as well - try 2000 - 5000mg daily for a bit. I don't recommend sticking w/ 5000 mg for too long though unluss consulting a doc. I'm also proud to report that I'm back to a callegiate level of getting trim again. thank you.. thank you. Best of luck.

I think the itch is caused by something I ate.
One of my test as follow:
a) Stop eating all forms for sugar.
b) Take a long 2-3 hours walk in heavy winter cloth.
c) Whole body wet because of sweat.
d) Did not take a shower.
e) Repeated a) to d) for three days.
Results : No itch

THEN it stopped after I was in Benin in rural Africa for a couple of months where processed/refine sugar isn't around. The biscuits, cheesecake etc all stopped and so did the itch and since I lost my sweet tooth, the itch has not returned since my return here.
You don't need to be a health fascist about it, I still take sugar in coffee/tea etc but the western sweet tooth deserts have gone away.
Hope you can try this and if you do really hope it works...

I am hopeful that this will get rid of the fungus. I had a just maddening itch on penis and balls for years. Finally got so bad I had to do something about it. As I said, I am hopeful the Derman will get rid of the fungus or whatever it is causing the sticky itch. I will let you know. I have not been to a doctor but once I have exhausted all OTC possibilities I will go if necessary. But like I said, the Derman so far is working very well and I am not itching.
