Hello. I have diagnosed hypertension and my doctor suspects I may have stenosis of renal artery. He ordered renal arteriography. I must admit that I am little afraid of this procedure. Will I feel this procedure? I am very nervous. I would really appreciate your opinion. Thanks for all your replies.
Hi. You shouldn’t worry a lot. This is a common procedure that has been done for many times. You will receive a local anesthetic. This will make the area where the needle is inserted numb. You won’t feel anything. Usually, anesthetic is given into the groin area. You should talk to your doctor about this. He may give you some tranquillizer to relax. Don’t worry! Everything will be all right.
