i always buy each kid an ornament for the tree that they get when the tree goes up. the ornament has to say something about their year. this year, it was a soccer shoe for littlegirl and a carpenter/woodworker for kidrock.

We always go to DC and see the National Christmas tree. We don't plan it this way but it ALWAYS ends up being the coldest day of the year the night we go downtown. I think this year might be an exception as we haven't gone to see the tree yet and we have had some pretty extremely cold nights.
