Hello! I am 18year-old male. Last night I had my first sex. Unfortunately it wasn’t as good as I always imagined it would be. It was actually painful. I don’t know what happened but I think I may have ripped my frenulum because there was some blood there. Does this condition require treatment, will the pain happen again. I will definitely like to get rid of the pain and discomfort during sex. All replies are more than welcome! Thx

Oh yes boy, I can definitely relate to this! I got so scared that I went to the emergency immediately. They told me that this happened because my frenulum was too tight, and that this may happen again. I was suggested to do a procedure called frenuloplasty. During this procedure, a band of tissue on the under surface of the penis is released . It is done under local anaesthetic on an out patient basis. It lasts for about 15 mins. I was in a hospital approximately two hours. I was awake (although I begged them to put me to sleep), but was given a drug to relax. When it was over, the incision was closed with stitches, which dissolved on their own in about ten days or so. I got some pain medications when leaving hospital. I had to rest after the surgery, avoid heavy lifting ( bla, bla ). Five weeks after, I was able to finally have sex again.
