I am nearing 73 and female. This is day 16 after laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. Had started to feel a bit stronger. Now, it's urinating very frequently, pronounced fatigue, ongoing nausea, ongoing headaches and body aches. So far no throwing up. How long does this syndrome last?

Alternative medicine: What is safest to take to relieve the body aches and headaches? Will it relieve nausea too?

I have Alka Seltzer on hand....although it isn't considered "alternative medicine," is it all right to take?

Many thanks.

Usually, after laparoscopic gallbladder removal, you get the advice to keep the diet as “fluid” as possible and to consume water and tea as much as you can. And after your body recovers itself from surgery, it seems very logical to me that it goes in sort of an “overdrive” and starts to get rid of the excess water. That may be even more the case if you are taking some medications, such as the ones for regulating the blood pressure.
Nausea problems are, on the other hand, very common after gallbladder removal. That happens because when gallbladder is removed, the bile that is still produced in the liver now constantly goes to stomach which simply isn’t used to this. And it’s a bit strange that you wasn’t warned about this and given specific medications to help you manage this problem.
