Hey everyone,
I am on my 6th day after my gallbladder removal surgery. I too am experiencing nausea and lightheadedness. My doctor told me that I can eat anything I feel I can tolerate....well this morning I tried a grilled cheese sandwhich...big mistake. It did not bring on nausea but sharp gas pains under my left shoulder blade. The nausea ususally hits me around mid-day (1-3PM) no matter what I have eaten. I have heard that for many people this takes weeks, months, and sometimes even years to resolve. I can take the gas pains and loose stools, but this nausea and dizziness is killing me. I have lost 16 lbs and am now down to 126 lbs. I am five foot six and really can't stand to lose much more weight...I suppose I better stick to a more low fat diet for the next few weeks....I may try the phenergan (sp?) but it makes me so sleepy and I feel like the more I move the better off I will probably be! I wish everyone luck with their post operative healing process! I know just how you all feel!

I am three weeks post gallbladder removal and feel horrible---nausea everyday---losing weight because feel worse after eating---and scared---before surgery, I had CT scan, ultrasound, endoscope and HIDA along with a myriad of blood tests checking liver and pancreatic enzymes amongst other things---My HIDA scan showed a low ejection fraction and my endoscope showed inflammation---my presenting symptoms were no pain except in left ribs and shoulder sometimes but severe nausea and morning bile diarrhea----they took my gallbladder on August 5 and I recovered well and easily but now I am just as nauseated as before---losing weight--unable to eat much``so am still sick---saw surgeon and gastro doctor who did a small bowel study which came back normal and put me on prilosec, gaviscon and xanax to sleep---has anyone else had this experience of the nausea everyday? If so, how long did it last and what helped? Please help me...

I too am having problems, my doctor said count on nausea on and off for 3-6 months following surgery. I had mine 4 months ago. Have good days, then really bad days...
Hey I feel your pain, I can eat however, most anything...
please answer if you are still on the forum----did the nausea eventually go away? I am four weeks post op--have lost 13 pounds and feel nausea most days and still have bile diarrhea many days once or twice---am feeling so frustrated--have had every test under the sun ---all they find is gastritis with the endoscope----did you wake up with the feeling of reflux and nausea? did you take PPI drugs (prilisec) or bile reflux drugs like carafate? did they help?
