I am not sure why you are still having pain and nausea. I just had my gallbladder out on tuesday and i have some abdominal pain from the ports and a little nauseated off and on. The other 3 holes are so the surgeon can manipulate the istruments to take out your gallbladder. The hole in your belly button is where the gallbladder actuallly is pulled out. Hope you feel b etter real soon. I am tired morre that usual.

I had my gallbladder removed three months ago (the day before Thanksgiving, 2001. I was forewarned about diarrhea but not nausea. Well, no probs with diarrhea but yes to nausea. The doc even prescribed nausea medicine, but I didn't know until my husband went to the pharmacy to get my meds. When I called his office, they acted like nausea had never been a problem with any of his other patients. So why prescribe it? Anyway, They prescribed another med, which didn't work. Then, I went to the doctor who'd also performed surgery on me on another issue at the same time, and he prescribed another drug. He also suggested I might have an ulcer and suggested I get over-the-counter Prilosec. The other drug didn't work. The Prisolec helps somewhat, but I'm really frustrated. Everybody else going through this knows that you just want to throw up and get it over with, but that's not the way the cookie crumbles. Yuck...

I went through the same thing for months and lost 18 pounds and was skinny to begin with---After every test, nothing came up...I started researching all of this myself and asked for a gastric emptying test...It came up positive ehat I have slow gastric emptying...My "new" GI doctor changed my whole protocol with the meds and I am so much better and almost back to normal...I still don't eat salads and raw foods too often but everything else is okay...I have my e-mail available on this site so if you want to write direct, I will help in any way I can ---I know how miserable that nausea is---blessings

Hey there, i just wanted to check in on you and see if you're feeling any better. I'm almost 2 weeks post surgery and i'm going through the same nausea as you are. Sometimes pain is involved too. Please respond as soon as you can. Thank you

Hey everyone, I'm glad i found other people going through the same thing I am. I had my gall bladder removed on March 2nd 2012. For about a week afterwards I felt great! I was eating a lot(low fat) and was pretty active. This past Saturday(March10th) is when everything went downhill. I have experienced non stop nausea. Sometimes its not as bad at times, sometimes its worse. Also, a couple times i would experience this burning sensation where my gall bladder used to be. It would radiate into my lower back. Is anyone else getting this? I've heard of possible bile reflux? Or is it just that i am only less than 2 weeks post op? Please, if anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thank you. My prayers are with you all.

I was sick like this for five months afterwards----I literally was wasting away---they found I had gastroparesis and gave me erythromycin which helped tremendously---I halso have been taking protonix and zantac---both of which helped---I haven't had the nausea now in over three months---I was scared it would never leave---you are only two weeks post op---I think you just need a little time---did you have stones or just a low functioning gallbladder? ---I no longer take the erythromycin for over four weeks and all seems well---

Thanks for the quick response! I just had a low functioning gall bladder. Today was my post op appointment. My surgeon thinks i may have Sphincter Oddi Dysfunction because my billirubin levels were high in my bloodwork. Im scheduled to see my GI doctor March 28th, so thats when the next step will be planned. Hopefully im better before then though. Glad to hear you're feeling better!
