I told myself that I would be the one to spin a positive tale after their surgery for Morton's neuroma. So far, that's not the case. My surgery was doable, so was my recovery. I did everything the doctor told me to. Now it's been a little over 9 weeks (operation 4/3/09) and I don't feel that I am on the path to a better life. Before I could only walk 35 minutes before I had to remove my shoe due to the sharp stabbing pains. Now, I have pain when my bare feet hit the floor in the morning. It's a sore pain between the 3rd/4th toes. I also have developed an annoying clicking sound and it makes me want to walk differently because it grosses me out. I quit thinking about the early morning soreness after about a half hour. When I go for walks, my foot becomes very painfull still after 35 or so minutes (just like before). The only difference is that my toes are numb in certain areas so I feel the sharp pains differently. I am a very positive person, but I am starting to wonder if my doctor is just shining me on. He says that he is sure this is all just a part of recovery, but my confidence in his work is dwindleing. I'll keep in touch, I still want to be the one to come on this and post a positive result. Best of luck to the rest of you. LL

I'm really sorry to hear that you are having problems with your feet now even after the surgery. I hope that the doctor is not just misleading you, and I don't think he'd really have much reason to. If you don't feel as confident with him as you should (and it sounds like you're not) then maybe you should see another doctor and get his opinion instead? What do you think about that? It can't hurt to have a second opinion in a case like this. Keep us posted!
