I am sorry to hear of your condition. Let me first state that I am an experienced adult, not a medical professional.

For proper advice, especially on such a technical and important matter, I strongly advise you to speak with your doctor.

There is a double reason for this, which is that - following a quick scan of wikipedia - there is an acknoledged genetic risk, and you would do well to fully understand that risk before having children. If you already have children, then of course it is a moot point.

You don't disclose your age, so I don't know whether you are a young teen who hasn't yet even spoken to the love of your life, or a fifty year old male, who is coming to terms with this. I will therefore address this 'somewhere in the middle'.

On the assumption that you are already in your relationship with your partner, and have an established sex life, and based on the description in wiki as a degenerative physical / motor disease leaving brain function largely intact, then yes, of course it can have an effect on your sex life, but no, it does not have to be significant for as long as you and your partner are willing to work around the progress of the condition.

It is ultimately a unique and individual situation, between you and your partner.
