abdominal pain after abortion

I had an abortion a week ago and I was fine the first 3-4 days with regular bleeding. But for the past 3 nights, I've been cramping soooo freaking bad. Like to the point of screaming at the top of my lungs!!!! Only at night tho. I'm cramping as I type this. Hurts like hell. But idk what could be wrong. I finished the antibiotics and I've been taking the birth control. The pain is in my lower abdomen and I feel great pressure in my tailbone area. It's very unpleasant.... I don't regret my abortion, but this pain is ridiculous!!!!

I had an abortion yesterday... I was only five weeks along but I feel much better today. I don't know how far along you were but it sounds to me that your symptoms are pretty extreme. Did you finish all your anti biotica you could have an infection. I would deff call the clinic or where ever you got it done and ask then. No one on this website is a doctor and we can all only offer advice from experience. Hope all is well.

at 7 wks i terminated pregnancy, it was a Tuesday, i had no bleeding apart from less than a teaspoon of brownish.  On the Friday LATE AFTERNOON i.e 3 days later i was in Horrible pain.   I though my body had just realize, and now my uterius was contracting, as it was similar to what one experiences after child birth, i took heavy pain tablets and still the pain was evident, i tried several times to contact the Dr that referred me, but he failed to answer my calls, so as most women being alble to with stand pain, i put up with the pain, and smallish clots and blood in between.  about 13 hours later the pain subsided and i had a relatevely normal day, bleeding as if day 2 of period with slight niggleing sensations. The day later the pain stopped but i kept bleeding medium to lightly for the next 6 days and then i had 3 day of browish muck.  on day 16 i felt good BUT at 10am in the morning i stood in our kitchen and thought i wet myself, what followed was a massive amount of bright red blood Scary Extremely i sat on the toilet and was horrified with the amount of blood loss.... Long stroy short i spent the day in hospital and a scan discovered a large amount of tissue still in my uterius, the next day i was operated on to remove the tissue... i am on now day two, not bleeding just Very tender.... my Gyno in formed me that i was going through the pain on day three because of this tissue remaining, as He said there should only be mild period pain after termination.  I PLED WITH ANYONE GOING THROUGH HEAVY PAIN AND CLOTS TO IMMEDIATELY GET TO HOSPITAL DO NOT BE SHY OR EMBARASSED IT COULD COST YOU, YOUR LIFE.  I Pray this helps, as trying to contact medical personal to attain advise might not work.  Good Luck..

Is it normal to feel bloated? I just finished my antibiotic today.. I haven't had much cramping... I had the abortion a week ago. When I do cramp up though it is pretty painful and my lower back hurts really bad. is this normal? Also, is it normal to bleed off and on? It's not real heavy. I have some period symptoms but other than that I seem fine... I was right around 13 weeks when I had it done, are there any complications I need to be aware of? Also, when would you recommend is safe to have sex again and to drink again? also, feelings of depression, self loathing, and anger.... any ideas on how to help these after an abortion?

I was 11 weeks along when I had my abortion five weeks ago and I'm still bloated and bleed off and on like every other day. I will start cramping bad then bleed through my clothes like 10 minutes after the cramping starts. How long will this bleeding continue is this normal?

I had a medical abortion in October. It was the worst pain I could ever imagine. It took the full 2 weeks for random cramps and spotting to finish and another 2 weeks after before I stopped feeling bloated and exhausted. It will end and you will forget the terrible pain and emotions but if you are worried this can cause longer bleeding etc so best to speak to your Dr to pit your mind at ease :)

Hi, i had an abortion few days back. after abortion i was feeling well for three days. from the fourth day onwards i am feeling pain, can,t even stand straight and walk. i am thinking to consult a doctor who has done abortion to me. my blood group was 'o negative' so i was also given 'anti d' injection. for this type of blood group (anti d 150 grams )is given after abortion and (anti d 300grams) is given after delivery just to have a better life after the delivery or abortion. doctor has told me about this. so no need to worry about anti d injection

heat wraps warm tea and sleep.. do it as long as the pain lasts. youll be out of it for a couple of days but youll feel alot better

i had a surgical abortion before 4days ago and i 5 weeks gone....so i have a pain in abdoman, body weekness some fever ,bleeding ,gidines.so please suggest me what should i do?

i recently had a medical abortion (the pill) and what they did to me was the had me take the first pill at the doctor and they had me sit there for about an hour to make sure i didnt throw it up. i did feel a little sick but i was already sick from the pregnancy itself. then i went home and about 8 hours later i took the other four pills. they told me to put two on each side of my cheek and let them dissolve or 30 minutes. then after that 30 minutes i was told to swallow whatever was left of the pills. the pain started almost immediately. they gave me vicodin and some stuff to surpress the nausea. i can't take vicodin because it causes me to have anxiety and the nausea pills didnt do anything for me. i was up all night with diarrhia and vomiting.i didnt start to actually bleed until about 3 hours after i took the pill. i had passed most of it by morning but was still tender. the day after i took the pill i felt fine for the most part. two days later i started having what it felt like contractions again and was in so much pain. i took three tylenol and it didnt help. i started bleeding heavily again and passed a few more blood clots. i was worried but they told me that it was normal. yesterday the same thing happened and i took a muscle relaxer to help with the pain. that didnt work either. today i'm having a lot of upper abdominal pain and i'm not going to lie. kind of worried. i hope i dont have an infection. i have been taking the antibiotics they gave me and my check up appointment is in 2 weeks. one thing to keep in mind is how far along you are in your pregnancy. they said i was about 8 weeks but when i counted in my head i was about 12 weeks. so of course it was more painful and intense. either way you're going to need people to support you and help you through this time. you dont need extra stress or worries so after its dont just take it easy and take care of yourself.. AND TAKE THE ANTIBIOTICS LIKE THEY TELL YOU TO! that is one way to prevent infection and return to normal. but like these other women have said. you know your body better than anyone. if you really think something is wrong GET IT CHECKED OUT! lots of women have died from infections without any symptoms after an abortion. and make sure you're not using any tampons, douches, having sex, or (yes its silly) fingering yourself. your cervix is open and contracting which allows for more bacteria to enter you easier.
