I have had the same result!! I've gained twenty lbs since my abortion in December of last year and it won't budge despite changing my diet from junk to practically paleo. So frustrating!!
Interesting. I had mine 15 years ago and lost drastic weight consistently. this seems more rare. i had another the next year and the year after. still not balanced out. has anyone found a cure?
i had my abortion almost 2 months ago and no weight loss at all after trying everything, My Gyno put me on glucophage 850 mg twice a day to loss weight and fix my hermones, so far im more bloated so wondering how it will goes after fe weeks.
thanks for this info, very useful.
Wow. I am so glad I found this thread. I have been struggling for YEARS. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out where or how I went so wrong. I put on 50 pounds after my TOP in 2009. The first 20-30 was quick, the remainder came over the past 5-6 years. But I never associated the termination with the weight gain, because it seemed counter-intuitive.
I eat well (low-moderate calorie intake, almost no processed foods, low sugar, and lots veggies) and work out several times a week, in addition to clocking 10-20K steps a day. I have tried so many diets and exercise plans over the past few years, and nothing has worked past 2-5 pounds, which I usually gain back within a few months.
I wonder if there isn't more information because many of us don't talk about it openly (maybe even with our doctors). I also often wonder if perhaps my body never got the message that I'm not pregnant anymore, and is mixing up signals because of it.
I am in a healthy relationship now, and trying to get pregnant, and I worry about the health implications for baby (and I) if I conceive while I'm so overweight, but a strange part of me wonders if carrying to term, and completing the process won't somehow help my body sort out these issues? Maybe I'm crazy... but it's the only feeling of hope I've had in a long time...
I wish you all the best. I will try to keep up with this board and maybe even have a real talk with my GYN about the issue...
