My daughter had an ACL reconstruction , 2 weeks ago. She is also having the burning and numbness. It looks like yours was over a year ago, did the burning and numbness ever go away ? If yes, how long did it take ? Hope you are doing well and have had a full recovery.
Thank you in advance
I just had ACL reconstruction 3 weeks ago today and also experience and burning sensation similar to the one your described, but this sensation does not reach my ankle. That said, why I try and bend my knee it feels like my skin is being stretched tightly. Did this sensation go away after a while with you or at least decrease in intensity?
It has been7 years for me and still having numbnessand burning sensation in my leg
Yes! don't worry
I can relate to the burning/stinging sensation and it concerned me alot at the time. It honestly was as severe as child birth contractons. I 'm glad to report that they do cease though the same areas are where I now (11 weeks since surgery) experience numbness.
I still get a burning sensation from time to time when resting in my knee 3 years after hamstring reconstruction . It passes when I move about though .
I have a permanent numb area on the left side below my knee which does not bother me .

How is the nerve pain now
Hi Yashvarya,
I completely understand your fears, as I too went through those & even though I'm in the U.S, my first ortho didn't reveal any details of the actual reconstruction.
First thing to do is be knowledgeable about the procedure, don't be hesitant ask questions to your ortho & even the radiologist. Next look into the surgeon's experience; how many ACL reconstructions has he done? What are the ratings for the practice? What type of graft will he use for you? The ortho should explain your MRI to you... it's your right!
I changed my ortho as this one specializes in sports medicine & I'm a Classical dancer needing to have complete range of motion.
My surgery was done today, literally typing to you lying on my bed, leg propped.
The surgery only lasts 45mins to 1hr, after that they monitor you, give you crackers , water & strong pain killer. You are released shortly after that. 1st appt with my ortho is scheduled after 10days.
My anaesthesiologist gave me a nerve block on the femoral vein, which will last for 24hrs.
My toes are getting cold & I too have numbness running from the inside of my thigh to the front of the knee, hence landed in this page looking for answers.
Good luck to you .. stay mentally strong

I had acl surgery Jan 25 2017 now 5 days later my shin on the surgery leg is numb, burning, and I don't know why or what to do about it
Melvin, can I ask how your nerves are now? I'm going through the same thing (4 weeks post op ACL surgery) and am terrified of this awful nerve pain not going away.
I had my ACL reconstruction almost 9 years ago. I just started feeling the numbness of the outside of the leg below the knee. Haven't asked the doctor. I would be certain that no one can help, maybe some pain medication could easy the numbness/pain. For sure the nerve had been damaged.
If anyone owns any remedies, please share that.
Bi just had meniscus, MCL and ACL reconstructed Surgery, and I feel a burning sensation through out my whole leg.
Is that normal?

I had a left knee acl recon (hamstring graft) from same leg. shortly after surgery i noticed and felt slight tingling half way down the lower leg (say middle) shin area and then a inch or to the left of the shin, there is a half hand sized area that is still numb to this day 2017 from the original surgery that was 2005 , so for me that tingling (not so much).... but numbness never went
