See an oncologist straight away. My friends who served in Nam are being diagnosed with forms of lymphoma due to exposure to this killer agent orange. Symptoms are presenting in their late 50's or 60's. No platelate count nor red cell and white cell count. Dizzyness, no energy, muscle cramps, general lack of energy, sleeplessness, etc. Do not delay.
and don't forget to tell them that you served and were exposed to agent orange
2001 after a blood plasmc exchange for 8 hours, I had a stroke and my platelet went down to 12000 in feb 2001 where I was in a coma for 5 days and almost died in the hospital. My blood was exchanged everyday and in March every other for 8 hours I had blood exchanges to bring up the platelet count. I do not know why I still have a rare blood disorder. Served in S Vietnam, 3rd corp area with the US Army from 1969 through 1970 and now I am fighting the VA in Honolulu, Hawaii since 2010. Just submitted 244 pages medical do alreacumentation for Unemployabilkity and Aid and attendance twice once in 2012 and 2013 signed by my doctors.
David, I am also in your shoes and would appreciate any info concerning Agent Orange & Platlet problems.

I too was in Viet Nam in 1967 and 1968. My younger brother died of non-hogsden lymphoma in April 2009 because of Agent Orange. He was there in 70 and 71. I was told that my platelet count was low just this morning. I got the physical so that I can have a knee replacement in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure if I was ever exposed to AO but I'm now beginning to wonder. I have been tested twice for AO and it was negative. I have also been false positive for Hep C and B. I am beginning to wonder if I don't have a residual AO. My primary is going to talk to the surgeon (he is Vietnamese believe it or not) to see if he will operate with my platelet count as low as it is (he didn't tell me the count and I didn't ask, dummy). My knee keeps me awake at night. It throbs all of the time. Anybody know what a person can do to increase the platelet level?
Hi Dan, I was stationed in Chang Mai and at Korat AFB both in Thailand. Came back the following year and ended up in Siagon, TSN AB. I have Coronary Ectasia and diabetes (type 2). I have all of the symptoms that you have. I do have confirmed arthiritis in my knees and hands and I am having a lot of trouble with my Liver and Spleen. I live in the UK so I have to go to a civilian doctor which I am doing next month. Just writing to let you know that I am 69 now and you are not alone. Hopefully we will get things sorted out.
Yes low platelet is associated to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. It has been accepted by the VA administration. You should place a claim for treatment and compensation.
Your lack of sleep could be due to sleep apnea, you should be checked for that by a
pneumologist (lung specialist).
Has an accredited correlation been established-between low platelets and agent orange, if so this information would assist many veteran like me who served in Nam and was effected by AO thank you
Can you please show a link to this information as the VA has asked me to show them that AO is associated with low platelets. Thank you in advance
My husband was in Vietnam 70-71. Now has idiopathic ITP (low platelets) anemia, low hemoglobin, hematocrit and white blood cells. Trying to get him to go to VA in Memphis. He already has had seizures since Vietnam, and is weary of VA. Any advice?
Howdy, have 2 friends in country and fighting AO. One has low blood platelets. I also have been fighting this and was exposed at Eglin AFB where it was tested at over 6,000% the concentration sprayed in Nam. Lost and trying to navigate. Also was stationed on a SAC base that is a radiological hazard. Looks like these two mimic each other in symptoms. Talking to doctors in and out of the VA is difficult-they just don't get it.
brother I am on board Sgt.Butch

Unfortunately i believe that I was exposed to AO in 1979 while TDY in support of JTF EWCAS at Eglin AFB, Pensacola Fla. I have multiple symptions, Diabetes (insulin dependent), ischemic heart disease (cardio infraction), severe liver function issues (low blood platelets, triglyceride issues - up to 1300, cholesterol, etc.), to name a few. the VA is hopeless. Looking for the latest info on items assoc with the liver. Any updates to previous posts?
My name is George Miramontez, was in A 1/26 in Viet Nam (Khe Sahn, Phu Bai) in January1968. Having similar problems. Do you have any updates? Please contact me at my
