I don't understand how women differ from men in their reactions to alcohol. How it is possible when same amount of alcohol is taken that they have higher blood alcohol concentration level? I also noticed since I am BC pill that I have even lower tolerance on alcohol. Why is that?
Yes, woman may drink exactly the same amount of alcohol as men for exactly the same time period, and the woman may have a 25 to 30% higher blood alcohol concentration level. This is because women are usually smaller than men and have higher concentrations of body fat which makes them more vulnerable than men. I didn't know about pills so I checked. Oral birth control pills can slow down the rate at which alcohol is eliminated from the body.
