I have just found this forum. I have been suffering from ? Sinus problems the past 4 weeks. I'm fatigued and dizzy on and off. 6 weeks ago I started eating healthy and introduced a lot of almonds and cashews. I'm on my 3 rd antibiotic and a strong steroid nasal spray. It's not really helping. I'm going to give up the nuts ASAP. How quickly would u expect the symptoms to resolve if it is related to almonds?

We seem to have a variety of allergy symptoms related to almonds on this board but we all have dizziness in common. For me, I get the dizziness and that is about all. I still eat almonds in small quantities and have very little trouble. If I have too many at one time and I have not become dizzy within an hour of eating them, I probably will not have a dizziness problem. Good luck in sorting through your issues. TJH

I get dizzy and and experience sinus pressure after eating almonds and peanuts. I can eat a small handful of any kind of almond and feel fine, but any more than that and the nasal pain starts, as well as hours of dizziness. Peanuts give me the same symptoms with any amount. The annoying thing is I've been tested by MDs for nut allergies several times and nothing ever comes up. I see an acupuncturist monthly, and she insists that food intolerance can come in many forms and frequently do not register as allergies from conventional testing. I've learned over the years to just pay close attention to what I just ate when any odd symptom comes on.

When I was eating almonds from a can as a healthy snack every time I ate them I felt lightheaded for awhile, nothing extreme. I just started thinking about it because I am eating trail mix with cranberries, almonds and cashews and starting to feel just a teeny bit lightheaded. This doesn't happen when I eat cinnamon almonds, which I love and can down half a pack in no time, so cooking them must alter whatever is causing the lightheadedness.

Yes! Almonds lower blood pressure very quickly which can cause an hypoglycemic reaction such as lightheadedness and dizziness. Try eating some fruit to raise your blood sugar level again.

Me too Trader's Almonds or Cashews. I start feeling dizzy and it slowly gets worse and then after a while goes away. I'm drinking water right now to see if it will help.

"it's a dizzy, very full feeling in my head, as if i have sinus congestion, but all over my head, and with no sinus issues"

This is pretty much how I'm feeling as well. I've reacted this way to almonds in the past, and stayed away from them, but last night I ate a fair amount of marzipan (which contains like 50 % almonds, something I've forgotten) and had a very similar reaction.

Yesterday i was dizzy most of the day, i felt horrible, checked by blood pressure to find it was very high...i think it was 155/102 .....so today, i was feeling much better, not feeling dizzy and i was thinking, how could that salad have made me dizzy? salad is healthy..... and i sat down and had some nuts that ive been snacking on every day, and guess what? I got dizzy....and i remembered that after i had my salad yesterday, i did have nuts....so im staying away from them...how scary....ive been slowly getting worse and worse healthwise, neurological problems and i think ive been poisoning myself with these nuts....i was told they were healthy!

I have had light headedness, nausea, and dizzyness. Apparently almonds have a trace amount of cyannide in them. I am no going to eat almonds ever again.

Yes I actually experienced that today for the very first time. Ate a little packing my lunch today. Felt dizzy and lightheaded immmediately. I suspected it might be them. Felt better after a while ate about 5 and immediately felt same thing. Unsure if this is a bad batch or now suddenly they affect me. Really really strange.

Yes, I ate about a half cup of lightly sea salted almonds close to 1.5 hour ago, and have chest pain I feel through to my back. It's weird. I'm not one to get heartburn, but did develop a peanut allergy 8-years-ago. But I've been able to eat almonds. But this pain in my ❤ is awful.

Raw almonds cause dizziness but not cooked almonds. Raw peanuts as well. Started about age 51.

You are probably reacting to the lectin n in the cashews and then the skin of the almonds. For some people, leptin can be deadly. Know that cashews are actually beans not nuts, and most beans contain gain significant concentrations of lectins. I recommend a fairly new book called The Plant Paradox by expert Steven Gundry, MD.

For clarification, the correct term is lectin, not leptin.
