Hi, I am 27 years old and I am allergic to amalgam. Since my wife is pregnant (fourth month), I would like to know if my child will be allergic too. I know how much trouble I had with my teeth because of it and I just would not like for our child to have the same problem. So, what are the chances for it getting this condition?
It is true that there is a hereditary risk when it comes to many conditions, including allergies. But it does not have to apply to amalgam; still the child might have some other type of allergy. If the worse happens, I guess you will have to teach your child to take the extra care of his teeth, to reduce visits to a dentist to a minimum.
