Hi, I heard a lot about HPV infection and how dangerous it is. I always insist that my boyfriend uses a condom, to prevent possible infections. Anyway, he told me that he could not infect me with HPV if we had an intercourse on a period. Is it true?

Well, I have to admit I never heard something like that. Of course there is a risk! Do you know that sometimes even a condom isn’t a proper protection from HPV because it doesn’t cover the whole area of genitals? I wouldn’t do that if I were you. I suffer from HPV, and I know how unpleasant this disease is. Not only that I have warts all over my genitals, but I‘m in risk of getting cancer too. I feel dirty and my conscience doesn’t let me have sex, because I don’t want to pass this terrible disease to anyone else. HPV can occur not only in genitals, but in anus and mouth too, so be careful what you’re doing if you suspect that your boyfriend is infected.
