it is very early days, u will be swollen for about 5 days, use ice on and off every 20 mins, its normal to walk like a duck for a few days honestly! i found a rubber ring to be an absolute godsend for the 1st 2 weeks as takes the pressure off the stitches x

I think it's varies a lot from person to person. I went back to school on the Monday after having surgery on the friday and I could walk just fine. Sitting was a little uncomfortable so try to avoid wearing tights or jeans or anything that's going to put pressure on that area.

blimey anina u were lucky, dont think ive heard of anyone being ok within 2 days of having this done. i personally think u need longer as u really need to be lying down relaxing, as the more u are up and about the more likely u are to pull the stitches etc. also u shouldnt drive (if u do drive) for a good few days either. also to help wiv healing everytime i went toilet i poured wArm salty water over the area. really hope u recover quickly, just dont expect to feel normal too soon, and wotever u do, dont look down there for a few weeks!

I went back to work on day 5, and honestly, I could have used another day, maybe two.

Thank you ladies. I will listen to your advice, if I can. I may be starting a new job so it really depends on when I start and if they will a llow me pre-arranged time off. Otherwise, I may have to cancel, which I truly DO NOT want to do.

hope - your story really struck a cord with me. i too was talked into surgery i didn't want. i too have suffered the adverse effects of this afterwards. i was very depressed about for some time afterwards but have now to some extent come to terms with it but will always live with regret. it also worries me that Dr Alter is talking women into procedures they don't want and is advertising that surgery results is NO change in sensation which as we both know is a big fat lie.

I had my surgery on April 12th, (last week). I am so pleased! I have kept the swelling down to almost nothing by keeping ice on the area.

Be patient my friend. The stitches are the only discomfort now. They are disovable, so I wonder how long it will take for them to dissolve and I am in the clear to be with my husband. =)

I had my surgery last Thursday and am pleasantly surprised. It appears my doctor did a very good job, as the skin is now longer showing.

I have kept the swelling to a very minimal bydiligently keeping ice on the area. My stitches are dissovable, so now they are the only discomfort at this time. I wonder, how long before this discomfort goes away and I can be initimate again with my hubby? =)
