Hello, I have sacroillitis for a few years now. I have tried everything: anti-inflammatory drugs, physical therapy and sacroilliac block injections. Except for the block injections, nothing helped. I have talked to a friend of mine and he suggested me to try naturopathic medicine. I have heard about this type of treatment, but am not convinced that it works. Are naturopathic doctors to be trusted? Or are they charlatans?
Naturopathic medicine is a school of medicine that tries to heal medical conditions by assisting the body’s own ability to recover from illness and injury. Naturopathic doctors don’t use synthetic drugs or surgery, but favor "natural" remedies. They try to remove the cause of illness and don’t focus on the symptoms. Naturopathic doctors get their degree after four years of classroom training, clinic and practical study. So if traditional medicine is not helping, there is no harm in trying naturopathic treatment. As for your concern in their expertise you needn’t be so suspicious. They are doctors like any others and have the patient best interest in mind.
