I went to the ER with severe back pain a week after gall bladder removal. Turns out I had a stone left in the common bile duct, you should have it checked out just in case. The did an ERCP on me and I'm feeling waaaay better! It's unbelievable what that tiny stone was doing to me!

I had my gallbladder removed 5 days ago and have been having problems with the back pain. It's all across my upper back, under the left and right shoulder blades and sometimes in the middle of the shoulder blades. I called the nurse and she told me it was probably gas pains but it feels different since I had the gas in my shoulder and neck that went away. I've also been feeling my heartbeat in my head, and back and I can see it moving in my stomach and chest when I am sitting down. I am really worried there is something wrong.

It seems that the back issues have gone but I have severe constipation and my PCP doctor prescribed Linzess it works but I'm having issues with rectal unconfortable feeling plus my stomach feels like a bomb went off in there and at times my intestines feel awful. Is this a side effect of the medication Linzess & plus I take stool softners along with Mira lax. Please reply thanks James Tamez

I have been following this blog ever since I had my gallbladder removed, because I too had the terrible back pain as a lot of you are describing. There is help! First of all I will tell you that most doctor's seem to poo poo this notion and will tell you that you will be fine. As soon as I was able I saw my chiropractor, the man is amazing! He has worked on me for several sessions now and gave me some very good advice. He recommended that I take digestive enzymes. The gallbladder acts as a filter to the liver, the liver deposits all those fatty proteins from our food into the gallbladder and the gallbladder slowly filters those fatty proteins into the intestines, when the gallbladder is gone, the liver literally dumps these into your intestines. Some people (a small percentage I'm told) have a hard time adjusting to this. The digestive enzymes break down these fatty proteins for you. You can get these at a "Health Store", "Vitamin World", "GNC". I have found that the back problem is related to the gut. Gut health is important to overall health, they go hand and hand. With the back adjustments by my chiropractor and the digestive enzymes before each meal I started feeling much better very quickly. You can also get papaya enzymes to go with it, as they will work as a fast relief like Rolaids but are much easier to take. As far as the pain on the side, I still feel that from time to time but my chiropractor assured me that in time that pain will leave. I sure hope this helps someone!

I had mine out almost a year ago and the pain in my right side under ribs and the right side of back in the middle of my back...like if you went through my body from where pain is in the front to the back, this is horrible, I have trouble walking because it is almost like a contraction of the muscle but never relaxes...I can not imagine this continuing but the surgeon said it had nothing to do with the surgery and my family Dr. says it is a muscle issue...I keep thinking it must be kidney or liver or something...I now lean to the right side to compensate for the pain which will throw my skeletal system out

Thank you very much....I will try this and book an appointment with the chiropractor

had gallbladder removed about 4 weeks ago before that had really bad back pains and still have them now. Cannot stand the pain just keep popping pain killers that are not really helping. Going back to doctors next week. was really expecting to be on top of the world after operation.REST
