About 4-5 weeks ago I had a back problem, it was shooting pain down my right leg. It lasted about a week or so of really bad pain. I started to take some pain killers and Ibuprofren to help. After a week or so with the pain it went away, and the pain was replaced with numbness. So for the past couple weeks the backside of my leg, from my buttocks down to the backside of my knee, has been numb.
I'm currently walking with a little bit of a limp, nothing too bad. About a day or two ago I noticed something that really kinda scared me. I realized I couldn't flex my calf muscle in my right leg. Upon further investigation on this I realized I was unable to stand tip toes on my right leg. Left leg is fine and doesnt seem to have any problems, but my right leg is still numb and I cant stand on my tip toes (which explains my limp).
Currently I live alone while going to college, I dont have any health care nor money to pay for any. I know it isnt good to put off medical problems like this but there is nothing I can do, I would just like to get some opinions on what my problem might be.
Thanks ahead of time.

My problem is the exact same to a "T". I have been like this going on two weeks. I'm starting to feel like my right leg is longer than my left because I have been limping so much. A chiropractor said it might be a bulging disc? Please help with any suggestions??
The symptoms described are from a pinched cyatic nerve from a buldging disc in the lower back. I had a disc herniation last year that pressed against my cyatic nerve on my right side and caused burning pain at first followed by numbness. My right calf was very soft and I could not flex it at all. I underwent traction, physical theraphy and even 2 epidural injections but in the end I underwent micro-discectomy surgery to correct the problem. I am still doing core-specific exercise to strengthen the area and hope to prevent re-injury.
My right calf is now smaller than my left and a bit weaker but I'm still building it back. If you have numbness in your leg/calf/foot don't wait! The nerve damage can become permanent if it is pinched too long. Pain medication only masks the problem and allows you to make it worse.
