Hi, I’ve been coughing for 2 months now. I don’t know what is happening, because I don’t have a temperature or mucus in my throat. Any suggestions about the possible cause?

Hi, it happened to me few years ago that I was coughing for a long time without obvious reason. My friend who was a medical student at the time told me that excessive coughing might mean I have an underlying disease or disorder. He told me that it’s better to visit a doctor, that to wait until my condition worsens. I listened to his advice, and went to be examend. It turned out that I had a bacterial infection in my respirathory tract. He prescribed me antibiotics, and after few days my condition started improving. A doctor told me that the cough wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t a smoker. He told me that I had to quit smoking the same day, and I did. People usualy find the strenght to quit only when they face the consequences of nicotin intake, which is sad.
