I have 5 lbs of baby weight to get rid of, if I can still call it that at more than a year post partum now, haha.... I have to say that I didn't attempt to lose any weight thus far, especially because I have been nursing and I wanted to make sure I got all the right nutrients. What is the best diet to lose weight after having a baby?

I find the key is exercise, and not diet, myself. I don't have the kind of self discipline that you need if you want to lose weight through a diet, and I love my food too much any way. But exercise is great for me! It gives you more energy and lessens your appetite I find, in particular for fatty and unhealthy foods. And you might get some muscles too!
