Hi.
A few months ago, when I got my period I tried to put on a tampon and it kind of felt uncomfortable so when I got into the shower that day I felt my "inside" to see if there was anything wrong and I discovered a small lump at about 1 inch deep. I thought it was wierd but I didn't make a big deal out of it... But then a month ago I started to feel pain in the lower part of my belly. It's like small spasms that I can feel inside. So I decided to check again to see if the lump was still there and it had actually gotten bigger. It is now about the size of a golf ball, maybe even bigger. I can't wear a tampon at all anymore. My belly looks a little swollen and I've been having discharges (white-yellowish, clear, with a not-so-fresh smell). Also, between my last two periods, I had a small amount of blood coming out of my vagina for about a week, which had never happened to me before. Also, when I "have to go to the bathroom", whether it's a "number 1" or a "number 2", it really hurts in my belly. Like huge cramps. I really feel bloated all the time.

I'm 23 and I've never been to a gynecologist because I really don't feel comfortable with it. I have had sexual relations before, but it has been a while now. The last time was in june 2010 I think... And I discovered the lump in january or february 2011, I'm not sure.

Also, I'm not sure if it is related but a few months before I found the lump, I began to have vaginal discharges so I went to the pharmacist and she sold me probiotics pills to insert in my vagina and the discharges actually cleared after the first pill (but I still used them all like the pharmacist said to do).

Does anyone know what's wrong with me?
Thank you.

It sounds like you have an abscess in the vagina - that's a collection of pus that causes the swelling and discharge. Your other symptoms suggest that this might be part of a more extensive pelvic infection.

I know you feel uncomfortable with the thought of a gyne examination, but this problem really needs diagnosing and treating. This problem is not going to go away on its own. Pluck up your courage and make an appointment

Hi DrJon. Thank you very much for your reply. I was affraid it was a cancer or a tumor or something... That's why I was so scared of going to see a doctor... Well I guess I will call tomorrow to get an appointment. Thanx again for your response.

So I recently had my appointment with the doctor, and apparently everything is normal... The "lump" I felt is actually my cervix, I have a very short vagina and retroverted uterus, so it's really easy to feel the cervix with my fingers because it's not deep inside my vagina.

As for the "discharges" and pain in my uterus I've been having, they are apparently normal and caused by ovulation.

I freaked out and got scared for nothing lol.
